Grays Town Centre –Works to improve the electricity supply for the market and other outside events
On Monday 27 February work commenced in the High Street to install feeder pillars which will provide electricity to market stalls and improve the supply for outside events, such as the Christmas lights switch on. The works are necessary as the existing power points are approaching the end of their useful life and in some instances are in the wrong position.
Works on installing the new feeder pillars is expected to be complete by Tuesday 21st March. Further works will be needed to carry out drainage works to connect the new units into the existing surface water drainage system. All works on the High Street are anticipated to be completed by Wednesday 5th April, and is not expected that the works will hinder access to any property during that time. There may, on occasion, be some noise from excavations or cutting.
The works have been discussed with the Grays Town Management Partnership who see the short term disruption as worthwhile in securing a power supply that will support an improved market and the opportunity to arrange better events in the future.
If you have any questions during the work please contact Emma Crampton, Town Centres Co-ordinator on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01375 652271
